*KS2 SATs Results 2016*

On behalf of the Governing Body, I would like to congratulate all staff who have worked with Year 6 during their time at Kimpton, our supportive parents and, most importantly, the pupils of Year 6 who have worked so hard to achieve such excellent results.

In a year when the Education Secretary, Mrs Nicky Morgan, warned that the tests were more difficult this year and to expect lower results, it is an even greater achievement.   Our school result in reading/writing/maths combined was 76% against a national average of 53%.

Credit goes to everyone involved with the school.   However, no organisation can thrive without a good leader, and under the leadership of Mrs Newton the school has excelled.    I would like to thank, in particular, Mrs Buttery, our English Leader, who was also class teacher to Year 6 part of this academic year and when they were Year 5, and Mrs Alvis, our Maths Leader, who has steered Year 6 through the lead up to SATs and who helped them achieve 100% pass in Maths.

Margaret Rome, Chairman of Governors
